World of Warcraft: Forever is heading into beta as a new permanent WoW experience alongside Modern and Classic WoW. This guide collects what Blizzard has confirmed so far and marks the questions that still need a live test.

Use this page to prepare for the beta without treating announced content as tested gameplay. Dates, access rules, and feature details can change, so MMO Forever will recheck them as the beta develops.

What Is the WoW Forever Beta?

The beta is an early test of World of Warcraft: Forever before its global launch. Blizzard describes Forever as a new experience in a reimagined original Azeroth, with progression to level 60.

When Does the Beta Begin?

Blizzard says the beta begins September 17, 2026, Pacific time, and runs through October 21, 2026, Pacific time. The announced global launch is November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Pacific time.

Who Can Participate?

The Skyborne Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection include beta access. Blizzard also lists other optional upgrade editions, but the official purchase details should be checked before buying because eligibility and dates may change.

How to Access the Beta

Beta access is tied to qualifying upgrade editions. Blizzard directs players to the Battle.net Shop for the current edition details. This guide does not assume that a normal subscription alone grants beta access.

What Blizzard Has Confirmed

  • Forever is a permanent experience alongside Modern and Classic WoW.
  • The journey begins in original Azeroth across the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.
  • Characters progress from level 1 to 60, and leveling remains important alongside endgame.
  • Blizzard has announced more than 1,000 quests, three new regions, nine new dungeons, two raids, and the new playable Skyborne race.
  • The new panel recap confirms no flying mounts and no level scaling.

Confirmed World and Systems

The panel recap names Mount Hyjal, Shen'dralas, Riverglades, and Zephras Isle. Riverglades has more than 150 quests across much of the mid-30s to mid-40s experience. Zephras Isle is a level 1–12 Skyborne starting experience.

Blizzard also describes Legacy progression, Camping, opt-in Transmog, modern and Classic visual presets, HD and SD character-model options, restored Classic animations for HD models, and official gamepad support. Camping lets players contribute through professions and share campsite buffs.

Dungeons, Raids, and Battlegrounds

The nine named dungeons are Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, Whelgar's Excavation, City of Dalaran, Blackmaw Hold, the Drowned City, Krol'dok Stronghold, Alcaz Prison, and the Shaper's Terrace. Blizzard describes Barrow Deeps as a planned maximum-level 10-player challenge and Hyjal Summit as a 20-player raid. The Darkspear Islands will add a 15-versus-15 battleground.

New raids are planned to begin unlocking December 9. This announcement does not establish which content appears in every beta build.

What MMO Forever Will Be Testing

During beta, we will record the playable class and race options, starting experience, zone access, quest flow, dungeon and raid availability, talent behavior, profession systems, and travel rules from the current build. We will separate repeatable observations from announced plans.

What Is Still Unknown

  • The complete class and race roster and exact restrictions beyond the confirmed Skyborne combinations.
  • The mechanics, costs, ranks, and prerequisites behind Legacy progression.
  • Profession trainers, recipes, skill progression, and specializations.
  • Dungeon and raid mechanics, rewards, difficulty, and beta availability.
  • The fastest leveling route, experience rates, and performance rankings.
